Madonna & Daughter Lourdes:Fashion Line Material Girls

Madonna & Daughter Lourdes:Fashion Line Material Girls – Madonna and her thirteen year old daughter, Lourdes Maria Ciccone Leon aka Lola, will be launching a fashion line. Apparently Lola has decided that she would like to be a fashion designer someday. She will be putting out a junior fashion line called Material Girls. The line will be launched officially on August 3 at Macy’s. Her daughter, Lourdes Leon (or Lola as she is called by family), will be the line’s Creative Director.
Lola recently wrote a blog about the clothing line on her website, stating that she thought that the clothing line would have a 80′s feel to it. At only 13 years old, she will have a lot of responsibility on her shoulders for only being a teenager. Apparently her mother believes that she has real talent, and will do well as the Creative Director of the new children’s line of clothing.

It will be interesting to see how the venture works out. Certainly she cannot be expected to perform all of the duties that someone in her position usually performs. She will likely have control over the general look of the clothing line, and will not have much input other than that. After all, the company does need to be profitable to continue to operate.
It is nice to see a child celeb like Lola receive something like this. All too often child stars are hounded by the media. Lola has grown up living a relatively normal life (other than the fact that her mom is Madonna), and now is coming to our attention via the business world, and not some sort of music album or acting gig.
